What should I bring to an LTB hearing?
Bring: copies of your lease, relevant notices, photos/videos of issues, repair requests and responses, payment records, text/email communications, witness contact information, and any other documents supporting your case. Organize chronologically.
How do LTB hearings work?
Most hearings are now video conferences. The adjudicator will identify who's present, explain procedures, then hear from the applicant, then the respondent. You can question the other party and present evidence. Decisions may be given immediately or reserved.
Can I have someone represent me at the LTB?
Yes, you can have a licensed paralegal, lawyer, or unpaid friend/family member represent you. Paralegals offer professional representation at lower cost than lawyers. We handle all aspects from preparation through hearing and can often achieve better outcomes.
