No. Age is a protected ground for persons 18 and over. Employers cannot refuse to hire, terminate, or treat employees differently because of age.
Is mandatory retirement legal in Ontario?
Generally no. Mandatory retirement was abolished in Ontario in 2006 with limited exceptions for certain professions like firefighters and police.
What remedies can the HRTO award?
