Can my landlord enter my unit whenever they want?
No. Landlords must give 24 hours written notice for most entries, entering only between 8am-8pm. Emergency entries are an exception. You can refuse improper entries.
Can my landlord raise rent whenever they want?
No. Rent can only increase once per 12 months, with 90 days notice, by the guideline amount (2.1% in 2026, down from 2.5% in 2024 and 2025) unless AGI approved. Exceptions for post-2018 units.
What if my landlord won't do repairs?
Document requests in writing. Give reasonable time. File T6 application with LTB for orders and rent abatement. Don't withhold rent - it can lead to eviction.
How long will my LTB case take?
