Can I return something I bought?
Store return policies are discretionary - no automatic right to return. However, defective goods and misrepresented goods must be refunded or replaced under law.
What are cooling-off periods?
Certain contracts have cancellation periods: door-to-door sales (10 days), gym memberships (10 days), timeshares (10 days). Regular purchases don't have cooling-off.
What if a business won't honor a warranty?
Document the defect and attempts to claim. File complaint with Ministry of Consumer Services. Sue in Small Claims Court for breach of warranty.
What costs can I recover if I win?
Filing fees, service costs, and portion of legal fees (up to 15% of claim). Interest on judgment also awarded. We pursue full cost recovery.
